I will hold back on my comments/critique. I applaud Kathleen for getting this to me and asking for help.
I want to wait to hear what others have to say about her collage, then I will add comments.
I like the collage- its not reali a collage with overlapping items or touching. I like how its a circular motion as well like paulina did. The sparkles stand out to me when i look at the picture. It also contrasts with the colors of the shells/rocks? (hard to tell from the picture). the emphasis I think is on the starfish. The whole collage is sortta a beachy theme and i like it.
Your collage seems well organized and lots of contrast. the colors work together in movement. I agree with anna your emphasis is the star in the middle, the texture in your collage is hard to look at but i like your shells and rocks,they work well and the circular visual brings some rhythm.. which brings everything together as one.
i love the theme of your collage and the shell textures. it reminds me of the beach and the ocean. the sparkles make me think of the way the water sparkles in the sunshine or the sand.
