Texture Collages

Hello Designers,
I have uploaded a general paper collage, to give you an example of how I would like you to upload an image of your Texture Collage. It does NOT matter if you are finished or not with the collage, I want everyone to have a peek at what you're up to.

So, get an image of your texture collage [or get going on your texture collage], take a picture, upload the picture here at our blog [just follow the instructions AND save it as a smallish jpeg, nothing too, too big] and then we can comment on each others work.

Go ahead and give me some feedback on my work.

AND WE WILL BE CONTINUING WITH THIS BLOG NEXT WEEK,
SO BE SURE TO CONTINUE TO CHECK IN HERE!!

Well it's great you love it Kati...now, use that design vocabulary and tell me 'why' you love it.

And, upload an image of your texture collage, even if it isn't complete

Let's see some interaction, on these isses, by Wed. April 4th @ 9pm.

Ask questions if you have 'em.

i think that your design is really well planned out and put together. the colors all work with eachother and really give it a lot of depth.

-i also have a question about my own design. i completely ditched my last idea about using nature in my textures and im using manmade things. but my question is can i use words or even say a map? to incorporate in my design or is that not right?

Humm Alex you raise a good point. I would say, a map is ok...as it is a manmade texture. I guess, words then, would also be alright.

Why don't you pull something together, send me an image and I will upload it to the blog....then we can get some comments from other.

Thanks for your thoughts on my collage.

This collage is very creative...i like how you contrast the dark color(grayish)with the pink and blue giving it also balance. i see a lot of shapes and movement along from head to toe. The overlapping of the material worked well, making it seem 3D like.

this is very interesting
How did you do the legs?
this design most have taken you a long time.
I really like the combination of the color and how you made that face like a black and gray and the legs too. THEN ALL THE DIFFERENT COLOR THAT YOU PUT IN COMBINATION TO IT.
CAN I ASK YOU WHAT GOT YOU INTO MAKING THIS DESIGN.
i REALLY LIKE IT. ARE YOU GOING TO BRING IT TO CLASS?

Thanks for the comments ladies.

Let me see if I can bring all the pieces into class...and we can discuss the details.

I photographed my legs to get that image, then just hand-cut them out of the background. The gloves are a photocopy, as is the face. The other bits came from here and there.

There's a bigger plan...I'll let you know those concepts on Tuesday.
