I am not sure what I am doing for the texture design. I am just going to see what comes in mind once I start collecting various texture objects to decide what I am thinking about doing for this project.
i am not sure what i am going to do for the texture design either... i am still working on my symetrical design which is coming together. I will probably end up using black and white for the texture design but im not really certain on that yet because i am still just thinking of ideas and materials.
For my texture design I will probably think of using both man-made and natural textures in my design piece. I am finished with the symmetrical and asymmetrical project, I finished them last friday. I'll get back to you and let you know how my project is coming along.
For my texture design..im still trying to decide what kind of materials will work together with a visual. I do have in mind to use various textures and lots of color...using some natural and man-made materials.
i don't know exactly what im going to do for my texture design yet but im sure im using natural textures and then from there i will see what happens, usually once i have all the materials picked out i can start moving them around and it helps me plan out ideas. at this point in time im still working on my symmetrical//asymmetrical designs they took longer than expected but i like how they are coming along.
For my design project on texture I am planing on using man made materials like lots of different fabrics and other natural textures that I can find outside. I will combine them by using similar color choices though out the piece, creating focus on certain areas... which of course you can touch.
Hey! Ok, i think i have a good idea for my project... it might sound funny at first but i think that i can make it look okay...
Picture like a big black piece of poster board i had found in the classroom.... i want to divide it into four sections using the four corners (with boarder in the middle to separate )... and on one corner i would put food textures... then nature textures then different papers i found... then maybe the fourth could be like...pattern looking textures form magazines and stuff.
Ok i want a little feedback, i know it sounds really busy but i might be able to make it work.
Oh and, do we have to have a color scheme? is that part of the project?
I’m not really sure on what I want to do yet I know that I want to use a few different types of materials. I was thinking maybe some cloth with some construction paper. For the accrual design I have not really decided what I want to do yet…. This is why I have not decide the color or materials.
It sound really cool but does seem like a lot would be going on…you might want to draw it out first so that everyone could see it and get a better idea.
As for due dates, let's say early April. I'm allowing a bit of flow ont he dure date, so we can have some in-class time to have a group critic. Just get started and we'll go from there.
Ashley, you idea sounds intriguing...keep working on it. One thing is how will you unite all these 'corners' of the collage? Color might be an element with which to do that. Think about it.
Mike, as for sports [as a theme] this is fine....how will you work in the texture portion of this into the sports theme?
Designers, feel free to comment on other classmates ideas and questions. The more dialogue the better.
I think i am going to use some glitter and some man made objects and come up with a designnn im not sure what kind of man mad objects yet i was thinking like making different materials or something, would that work?
I think I have a good idea what my project is going to be. i am thinking of using man made objects for most of the texture. it's probably going to be a collage of many different textures throughout the piece.
I just finished my project for symmetry and i was wondering if we need to somehow fix the two designs together to form one large image..?
As for my texture design, i want to use puff paint and manmade objects to form the physical texture(beads, staples, paper clips, wire, etc.). I have yet to deside on a color scheme. I was thinking black and white with a bright color for emphasis.

Chelsea, keep thinking about the texture you will pull into collage. First things first and in your case that is the symetrical design.

Kati, you can use any colors you desire and you can combine man-made with natural textures if you want. You are the designer.
